My Top 20 Purchases of 2020

Wrapping up the top products I used and wore the most last year.

I know it’s the smack dab middle of January but I am already feeling a bit nostalgic about last year. 2020 was a weird one for sure but I want to share the top products that I found myself wearing and using the most over the course of it. My top 20 purchases of 2020 are a perfect reflection of things that give me joy; fashion, beauty, home decor, and of course family time.

1) Honest Beauty Extreme Length 2 in 1 Mascara

Honest Beauty Mascara

They say 2 is better than 1 and it cannot be more true for this mascara. One side is a primer that helps condition and prep your lashes for application. The other side is lengthening mascara that volumizes and maximizes your lashes without flaking or clumping. And that price point cannot be beat!

2) Sherpa Pullover

Sherpa pullover

2020 was the year I fell in love with sherpas. Warm and cozy, these snuggly pullovers feel like you are wrapped in a warm blanket. I am currently an owner of two sherpas and desperately want to increase my collection.

3) Laundry Room Sorter Center

Laundry Room Organization

Laundry is the true never ending story. But this rolling cart with sorting bags and a hanging clothes rack helped me to organize all our dirty clothes. Though this exact laundry rack is no longer available, I linked a similar one that serves the same purpose.

4) Super Soft Drawstring Jogger Pant

Womens jogger pant

These pants are a #1 best seller on Amazon or a reason. Super soft, comfy, and with 2 roomy pockets, these joggers were easily the most worn pant in my closet. I am wearing a x-small.

5) Pictionary Air, Kids vs Grownups

Pictionary Air

We drew, we laughed, we lost. And we ultimately learned that the kids in this Pictionary Air kids vs grownups game dominate. After playing this interactive game, I am so glad I didn’t pursue a career as an artist.

6) Instant Pot

Instant Pot

This year I branched out and tried new cooking techniques and recipes. One of these was learning to prepare dishes with an instant pot and it has been incredible! Rice cooker, pressure cooker, saute pan, crock pot (and more) all in one compact appliance. This is a great product to add to your kitchen repertoire. Here are some of my favorite recipes to make with the Instant Pot: Broccoli Beef, Jambalaya, Baked Beans, and Baby Back Ribs.

7) Leopard Print Sneakers

Leopard Sneakers

I bought my first leopard print cardigan when I was 15 years old and have loved this animal print from that moment on. These tennis shoes are comfy, versatile, and have just enough leopard to make it cute without looking too much like Carol Baskin (I can’t do a 2020 recap without mentioning Tiger King at least once).

8) P.F. Candle Co Candles

PF Candles

Since we were spending so much time at home, I wanted my house to smell inviting, relaxing, and refreshing. I bought these candles at the Nordstrom Winter Sale and was so impressed with their quality. The scents are clean, natural, and burn so nicely. And I always get compliments from guests when I have them burning.

9) Over Sized Sunglasses

Oversized Sunglasses

I have a weakness for sunglasses and have multiple pairs in my home, car, and handbags. But this Amazon pair is one of my top 2 faves. I love the classic shape, chic black color, and the frames are oversized without being TOO big. And of course the price point can’t be beat!

10) Patio Dining Set

Wayfair Dining Set

We spent alot of the summer poolside. Whether we were swimming in the water, grilling hamburgers, enjoying happy hour, or roasting s’mores, our backyard patio was THE place to be. We bought this dining table set from Wayfair and I added the table top decor from sale pieces from At Home. They helped give our backyard a “resort” feel since we couldn’t go to an actual resort.

11) Distressed Jeans

Distressed Skinny Jeans

These Target jeans were probably my most worn jeans of 2020 and I still reach for them often. They are a great price and I love the bleached distressed look. They are also super soft and stretchy which definitely helped with quarantine over-imbibing.

12) Corrective Facial Oil

Corrective Facial Oil

This is a product I added to my skincare routine about three months ago and now cannot imagine not using it. This lightweight corrective facial oil is great for redness, under eye circles, hyperpigmentation, dry patches, and over-all skin moisturization. I use it morning and night.

13) Hammitt VIP Crossbody Bag

Hammitt cross body bag

This year for my birthday, I splurged on this Hammitt bag. I was a little nervous I wouldn’t like it when I got it but it was love at first sight. I love the chic red accent zipper and this gray color goes with everything! The top zipper compartment folds over to make the top of the bag. It is great for storing sunglasses, masks, and lipstick. I have the large size in the pewter and brushed gold color combination.

14) French Champagne Acrylic Tray

Society6 Acrylic Tray

Champagne + art + serving tray + organizer = the most amazing thing ever!!. Society6 is a marketplace that features features hundreds of independent artists who enable their original works to be put on a variety of wall art, home decor, lifestyle products and more. I use this acrylic tray for keeping all my blog files, papers, contracts, and notebooks together.

15) All in Favor Knit Maxi Dress

Maxi Dress

This knit maxi dress was a warm weather go-to for me. Dressed up for date night or made casual for an afternoon bbq, this elastic waist dress is effortlessly chic. It has adjustable straps and a blousy bodice that makes this dress very flattering. I bought a size x-small.

16) Crystal and Pearl Statement Necklace

Crystal and Pearl Necklace

I am a sucker for statement jewelry: in my opinion the bigger the better. This ribbon-tie 2 layer necklace has a Audrey Hepburn-esque classic look. I wear it with so many outfits and it is a easy and affordable way to luxe up any look.

17) Leopard Print Head Wrap

Leopard Headband

Another top worn item for 2020, this Old Navy headband has been with me for workouts, out to dinner, bad hair days, and more. I like how the wide soft band does not leave a crease in my hair when I take it out.

18) 1000 Piece Puzzle

1000 piece Space puzzle

I ordered this puzzle from Amazon on a whim and it was such a good buy! It was hard to put together and took our family many hours over a couple days. It was a great distraction from our phones and screens.

19) Orolay Jacket

Orolay Jacket

This Amazon coat had been the top trending winter jacket for a couple years. I finally made the purchase and I can tell you the hype is for a reason. Lightwieight but oh-so warm, this down jacket has kept me warm and oh so fashionable on those 20 degree early morning dog walks. The fur trim is detachable and this jacket washes up well too (I wouldn’t it have bought in in white otherwise). I bought a size small so I could have enough room to wear this coat over chunky winter sweaters.

20) Bonfire Solo Stove

Solo stove

We purchased this smokeless stove in the fall. Once the fire reaches a certain temperature, this firepit burns cleanly without any nasty smoke. It is so nice to sit around this firepit at night with a drink in hand and watch the flames. Our kids have roasted smores over it and I know we will make more memories with this solo stove in the years to come.

Whew! That was a lot of words and a lot of products, so if you have made it this far…..thank you! Let me know if you bought any of my top 20 purchases of 2020 or send me any questions in the comments below.
