Easy No-Bake Cheerio Bars

It is the 4th week back at school and my children are settling into the routine of homework and early mornings nicely. This year both of my kids eat lunch at school EXTREMELY early so they are starving when they got off the bus in the afternoon. I am always on the look out for healthy and nutritious after-school snacks to give them and this easy no-bake Cheerio bar recipe is just that. With only three simple ingredients (I bet they are already in your pantry), this tasty cereal bar is all homemade with no hassle.

To make this awesome snack, you will need peanut butter, honey, and Cheerios. Simply melt the peanut butter and honey in a large microwave proof dish until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Once the ingredients are well combined, add the Cheerios and stir, stir, stir. It will be gooey and sticky but keep stirring until all the cereal is evenly coated.

Pour the Cheerio mixture into a 9”x13” dish and press down firmly. The harder you press down on the cereal, the easier it will be to cut later. Let the Cheerios cool completely before cutting.

Voila! A simple and healthy after-school snack you can feel good about making for and feeding to your kids.

Be creative with this recipe and customize it to your personal taste. Try using different flavored Cheerios or add 1 cup of your favorite mix-ins (peanut butter chips, dried cranberries, chopped peanuts, flax seed, or shredded coconut to name a few) to make it your own. The possibilities are endless.

These Cheerio bars make a great after-school snack, breakfast on the go, or midnight treat. They are the perfect combination of sweet, salty, crunchy, and gooey. See if you can eat just one.
