4 Sunglass Trends to Know for 2024

The shades and shapes you will be seeing everywhere this year.

Sunglasses are one of my favorite accessories. They are such an easy way to change up your look, accent an outfit, or make a bold fashion statement without a commitment or breaking the bank. And now that we are finally leaving the winter months and heading into sunnier (and hopefully) warmer weather, it’s time to take a look at the new sunglass trends to know for 2024. In this blog post, I rounded up the four major design styles I am seeing on repeat for this year. So if you are wondering what styles are “in” for 2024, you have come to the right place!

1) Oversized Frames

Go big or go home definitely applies to this sunglass trend for 2024. The actual frame shape does not seem to matter (though I am seeing lots of hexagons and cat-eyes) just as long as it is big, bold, and beautiful. Plus the oversized frames help shield more of your eyes and delicate eye area from harmful UV rays.

2) Colored Lenses

Want a fun color pop for your outfit? Try some sunglasses with colored lenses. This rainbow inspired trend is showing up in all frames and styles and will be very big this summer. Rose-tinted and blue lenses seem to be the front runners because they add a color accent without being too over the top.

3) Metal Hardware

Country club style meets intellectual intrigue with this metal frame and hardware trend. And this sleek minimalistc style doesn’t just apply to the frames. Metal brow bars and other design details along the sides and bridge of the sunglasses are showing up too. And metal styles tend to be more lightweight so they are great to wear for outdoor activities.

4) Rectangle Frames

These frames are giving off major Y2K vibes and remind me so much of The Matrix movies. But they took the fashion world by storm last year and seem to be sticking around for 2024 as well. These classic frames look elegant and chic in all black or tortoise shell. Or try a bright color for a retro 70’s look (also on trend this year).

I am loving the just metal hardware trend and just added these sunglasses to my collection. If you need help choosing a frame to compliment your face shape, read this blog post.
