This weekend, we officially hit 90 degree weather here in Atlanta. Warm summer temperatures are here and so it is time to adjust my wardrobe accordingly. I love summer dresses. They are simple pieces that you can just slip on and feel cool, chic, and comfortable all day long. And with a a few changes in shoes and accessories, you can effortlessly transform a simple summer day dress into a polished night time look. When I think of must have dress styles for summer, these three looks instantly come to mind.

Summertime and white dresses are a perfect match and a look you can wear for many summers to come. White is flattering for every skin tone and can be worn for both day and nighttime events. I like to wear my white dress with nude colored shoes and accessories so my dress gets all the style focus and attention.

What’s better than a comfy soft t-shirt? A comfy soft t-shirt dress of course! This dress style is so versatile. I have worn mine as a dress, a swim cover up, and yes, even as a night gown in a pinch! Sometimes t-shirt dresses can look a little “boxy”. I recommend finding ones with a style detail like side-ruching, an elastic waistband, or some kind of pattern or pocket detail.

3. The Chic Maxi Dress
I have to confess that I have a slight maxi dress addiction. They are my favorite dress silhouette of all time and there is quite a large number of them hanging in my closet. I like to wear boldly printed or brightly colored maxis for daytime and save my dramatic black ones for nighttime events. Because of the dress length, I usually wear simple flat sandals or shoes to go with it. You can accessorize without abandon when you wear a maxi dress because this style pairs beautifully with bold jewelry, belts, or handbags.
