Sweet Banana slices are dipped in melted chocolate then rolled in crushed candy bars. After chilling for 3 hours in the freezer, these Loaded Chocolate Banana Bites taste AMAZING! Customize the crunchy outer coating by mixing different chocolate bars together. The possibilities are endless in this simple recipe.
Loaded Chocolate Banana Bites
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- assorted topping for coating banaanas ((crushed candy bars, Oreos, toffee bits, peanuts, shredded coconut))
- 3 bananas (peeled and cut into 1/2 inch slices)
- Stir chocolate and oil in a small saucepan over low heat until the chocolate has melted. Remove from heat and let cool for 15 minutes.
- While the chocolate is cooling, place each topping into a small shallow dishes. Line a baking sheet or pie pan (make sure it can fit, laying flat, in your freezer) with foil.
- Using your fingers, dip one banana slice into the melted chocolate. Make sure the banana is completely covered.
- Place the dipped banana in one topping. Using your clean hand, sprinkle more topping over and around the banana slice so it is thoroughly covered. Shake off any excess coating then place the banana onto the foil lined pan.
- Repeat with the rest of the banana slices, chocolate, and toppings. Freeze until the bananas are firm, about 3 hours, then serve immediately.
*These will keep in the freezer for up to one week.
**Serve immediately. The bananas get mushy if they come to room temperature.
