This spicy Jalapeño & Chile Simple Syrup is a great cocktail mixer. Add it to your margaritas, mojitos, or moscow mules for a delicious kick!
Jalapeño & Chile Simple Syrup
- 2 cups white sugar
- 2 cups cold water
- 2 jalapeño peppers (halved)
- 2 green chile peppers (halved)
- 8 1-inch strips lime zest
- 8 1-inch strips orange zest
- 8 1-inch strips lemon zest
- In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, water, the three citrus zests, and both peppers.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.
- Once the liquid reaches a boil, remove it from heat and let it steep for 15 minutes.
- Strain the liquid into a jar and throw away all the solids.
This Jalapeño & Chile Simple Syrup will keep up to 2 weeks in your refrigerator in an airtight container.
