And there is currently a plethora of shopping and retail apps on the market. I have put together a list of my top 4 shopping apps that bring finding and buying chic, elegant, and fashionable clothes literally to your fingertips. Whether looking for a sexy pair of boots for you, jackets for your children, or the perfect lamp to accent your living room, these apps will help you shop with luxury and ease in the comfort of your own home.
1) The RealReal
The what what?!? Anytime I tell someone the name of this incredible app they think I stuttered. The RealReal is a shopper’s best kept secret.
How it works – This app sells high end designer brands on consignment for amazingly discounted prices. They have everything a fashionista’s heart desires; Prada, Chanel, Hermés and more at Gap and Banana Republic prices. Shoes, handbags, accessories and every type of clothing for men, women, and children as well as beauty items and home decor are all available here.
Why I love it – The RealReal has a team of in house experts that do a thorough inspection of each piece. They certify the authenticity of the product as well as honestly evaluate the condition and wear of the item. Plus, a number of the products for sale are brand new with tags still on!!!
2) LIKEtoKNOW.it
This awesome app allows people to instantly shop photos from their favorite Instagram feed.
How it works – This app uses screenshots of a social media influencer’s posts and instantly pulls up all the shop-able details in that captured image. Shopping is not only limited to apparel; home goods, accessories, appliances, and furniture are also available here. The only caveat is the screenshot MUST come from a social media account that is registered with LIKEtoKNOW.it. There are two ways to tell if the feed you follow is registered. Images that are linked to this app will have a small icon in the bottom right corner that advertises their affiliation or the account will add a LIKEtoKNOW.it link in their caption. So many popular social media accounts use this app, it is not difficult to find.
Why I love it – This app blends the best features of catalog shopping (instant product information )and social media (amazing photos and fashion styling ideas) seamlessly. It is also extremely easy and user friendly to navigate.
3) Nordstrom
Customer care and service have always been Nordstrom’s signature strength and these traits carry through in the Nordstrom app.
How it works – In this app, people can shop, make a wish list, reserve clothes to try on in local stores, check stores for item availability, pay a Nordstrom card bill, live chat with knowledgeable sales people and so much more.
Why I love it – The Nordstrom app has a personalized “Your Look” feature that puts together complete outfit ideas based on the items looked at and bought through the app. These ensembles range from workout to office to date night to wedding and each one is paired with shoes, jewelry, handbags, and sometimes even beauty items to completely tie the look together. It is like having a personalized shopper who has access to the entire Nordstrom warehouse.
4) Target
The store that has it all also has an app that has it all.
How It Works – This app has so many amazing features and capabilities. Store inventory and availability is easy to navigate either by manually entering search items or scanning bar codes. There is an even a setting to set a home store that details sales, coupons, events and even a store map of that particular Target’s location. The “wallet” feature helps to digitally organize coupons, gift cards, Target REDcards, and Cartwheel offers (Cartwheel is a program that offers 5%-50% discounts at Target that one can sign-up for through this app).
Why I Love It – My favorite feature of the Target app is the “My List”. Users can create a shopping list and the app will tell you the current price of the items, applicable coupons or discounts that apply to them, and even what aisle they are located on in the store. Plus, the Target app will alert you if a similar item or brand in the store is cheaper, on sale, or has a coupon. A definite shopping and bargain score!
