The Easiest Way to Get Wax Out of a Candle Jar

Don’t throw away that expensive candle once it’s been burnt. Instead, use this easy way to get wax out of a candle jar so you can give that pretty container a second life.

I love to burn candles. They give such a gorgeous scent, aesthetic, and dreamy look to any room. A few months ago, a friend and I attended a candle workshop. We learned so much and even got to make our own candles. Most candles are kept in such beautiful jars and containers. It seems wasteful to throw away these gorgeous vessels once the candle is done. But how do you get rid of that sticky waxy mess at the bottom of the jar? I found the easiest way to get wax out of the candle jar. And it requires zero special equipment or a lot of your time. If you have a freezer and a little bit of patience, you too can have those containers wax free in no time. Read on to find out how.

Freeze the Candle Wax

The cold temperature in the freezer causes the wax to harden and shrink which in turn makes it easier to remove. I put my candle in the freezer and left it there overnight.

The next day, I used a sharp kitchen knife to loosen the wax from the side of the candle.
