One of fashion’s most coveted sales starts TODAY! Jam-packed with fall fashion, designer deals, tons of beauty and home items all at incredibly low prices, here is my curated list of what to buy (and what to pass on) at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
Nordstrom. Nordy. Nordies. Whatever you call it, this long standing retailer of fashion is known for it’s incredible sales. Mainly the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that has been going since 1974! This year’s collection did not dissapoint and my inner fashionista had a blast scrolling through all of the styles and designs. True, the sale is overwhelming. Both for my brain and wallet and I’m sure yours as well. Today I’m sharing what I’m buying (and what I’m not) from this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale to hopefully help streamline your shopping experience. Plus a few cold weather fashion pieces that you may want to add to yor wardrobe.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: What I’m Buying
Patch Pocket Ankle Jeans / Felt Fedora / Snake Chain Drop Earrings / Sweater Dress / Pura Diffuser / Pillowtalk Lip Kit / Platform Sneaker
Sweater dresses, felt fedoras, and dark denim. Nothing gets my fall fashion blood pumping more than these cute styles. The past two Anniversary Sales, I’ve stocked up on fall shoes (like these western booties and these waterproof ankle boot). So this time, I focused more on apparel, minus the exception of the adorable platform Nikes.
I love the dual design feature on this Steve Madden sweater dress (comes in 2 colors). Dress it up with opaque tights, matching pumps and a long line coat. Make it edgy with patterned tights, booties and a moto jacket. Or go with a vintage vibe and wear it with high boots and a neck scarf.
I’m obsessed with these wide leg jeans. They have potential to be super cute with a cropped sweater, tucked in button down or a fun printed blouse. And the ankle length gives your shoes a chance to shine as well.
And speaking of shoes, these Nike platform sneakers are the perfect footwear for almost any casual outfit.
An outfit is only as good as the accessories you put with it. These $30 snake chain drop earrings are the perfect blend of chunky and delicate. And this winter white felt fedora would go with so many outfits (like the sweater dress and those jeans).
The last two items, social media made me buy. This Charlotte Tilbury lipstick has been an influencer favorite for years. It is a pretty neutral that is supposed to compliment every skin tone. And this “viral” smartphone controlled diffuser is a bit of a splurge but I want to try it. It comes in many different fragrances, these four scents from Brooklyn Candle Studio sound divine.
What I’m NOT Buying
While I USED to shop this sale to stock up on wardrobe basics (white tees, underwear, socks, long sleeve shirts, etc) I have steered away from that. There are so many other affordable brands (Amazon Essentials is my current fave for all things basic) that have similar or cheaper prices ALL YEAR LONG.
Same for kitchen and houseware. Even Anniversary sale prices are too high for me to stock up on kitchen towels, bedding, and cookware.
So my advice, stick to fashion and beauty purchases for this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
