I have a slight obsession for all things personalized and monogrammed, especially when it comes to jewelry.  In 8th grade, I went to an amusement park and bought a gold bent wire ring coiled in the shape of my name.  I felt so glamorous and sophisticated wearing that ring and was quite disappointed when it turned green and broke apart a few months later.  Nevertheless, I believe my fancy for personalized jewelry began that day at the amusement park.  Fast forward more than twenty years later and I still get a feeling of elegance and sophistication when I wear something personalized or monogrammed.
