This cheerful citrus flower arrangement takes just a few minutes to make and will instantly brighten the room. All you need is limes, flowers and a couple of vases for this effortless DIY.
I love having fresh cut flowers in my home. They can be from my garden, the farmer’s market, or the grocery store ( Trader Joe’s has the BEST selection in my opinion), I’m not that picky. Something about the fragrance, color, life, and design accent of a gorgeous arrangement makes me happy. This DIY Lime and Flower Arrangement is easy, superfast, and can be made with any type of flower.
DIY Lime and Flower Arrangement Supplies
- 2 clear vases sized so that one fits inside the other
- Knife and cutting board
- 5-8 limes (It depends on the size of the vase. I used six.)
- Fresh cut flowers and greenery
How to Make
Nest the smaller vase inside the larger one.
Cut the ends off of the lime then cut it into 1/4 inch slices. Try to keep the slices uniformly thick for easier assembly.
Place the lime slices in a single row inside the bottom of the larger vase. I used a butter knife to help line the slices up. Once the first row of limes are completely around the vase, start a new row. Continue layering the slices until the limes are at the top of the outer vase.
Now the fun part; making the flower arrangement. Cut the flower stems to the height you want your arrangement to be. I chose to have the yellow mums be the tallest point of my arrangement and surrounded them with the other flowers and greenery. Place the flowers into the inner vase and arrange them to your liking. Pour water into both vases. Make sure the limes are completely submerged so they don’t dry out!
