Jalapeño & Chile Simple Syrup

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 2 jalapeño peppers halved
  • 2 green chile peppers halved
  • 8 1-inch strips lime zest
  • 8 1-inch strips orange zest
  • 8 1-inch strips lemon zest

Method
 

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, water, the three citrus zests, and both peppers.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once the liquid reaches a boil, remove it from heat and let it steep for 15 minutes.
  4. Strain the liquid into a jar and throw away all the solids.

Notes

This Jalapeño & Chile Simple Syrup will keep up to 2 weeks in your refrigerator in an airtight container.
